BDC Systems exhibited the new Skandia BTI belt conveyor for the first time in the UK at the Midland Machinery Show in November.
For many years, Skandia Elevator has been one of the world’s leading experts in chain conveyors and bucket elevators for grain transportation. The company now presents its first belt conveyor. Having researched what was missing from other belt conveyors on the market, Skandia Elevator has set out to produce a new and better product “the world’s best belt conveyor”.
With capacities from 40tph – 150tph, this fits into their “I” range of semi commercial equipment. An ideal machine for filling large buildings and energy efficient for long transportation of grain.
Heavy duty angled rollers, each easily adjustable, support the belt on the top of the machine. Heavy duty horizontal rollers support the belt on the return with angled rollers set periodically down the machine to adjust the belt and keep it running centrally.
The discharge tripper can be supplied with a manual or motorised valve and the tripper is moved by a fixed electric winch and cable system. Top covers can be supplied for external use. Limit switches can be supplied to position the discharge tripper and the drive is a direct coupled right angled Nord motor gearbox. A self-adjusting weighted tail end roller is supplied for longer units.
BDC’s Managing Director, Andrew Head commented: “This new machine has been on the drawing board for a number of years and we are very pleased that Skandia has now added this to the range. It certainly looks a simple, robust and well engineered conveyor”.
In addition to Skandia products, BDC Systems can supply, drying, cleaning, storage and ventilation equipment so offering a complete solution.
The next opportunity to view the Skandia Belt Conveyor will be at Lamma 2018 – BDC Stand No 315.
